The pierced, punctured, platform-shod proletarians who gathered recently at Webster Hall had that every-day-is-Halloween insouciance so fashionable with a certain subset of the downtown demimonde. The event, Night of a Thousand Scars, honored Twisted Sister Dee Snider's directoral debut for his film Strangeland and included the requisite dungeon, garden-variety flagellation demonstrations, contortionist performances, and even a couple of frisky entrepreneurs flogging the latest in nipple rings. --Lynn Yaeger
