A star-studded cotillion of Manhattan luminaries and their frisky friends—some furry, some feathered—gathered last week at the Jivamukti Yoga Center for a vegetarian dinner party that was billed as an evening of ‘‘Fashion and Fun, a Silent Auction, a Voice for the Animals’’ to benefit the Humane Society of New York. The Yoga Center asked human guests to remove their shoes; their faithful companions, fleet of paw and claw, needed no Manolo Blahniks or Jimmy Choos to wow the crowd of beast-besotted admirers.
