Just two weeks ago, Steve Spinola, president of the powerful Real Estate Board of New York, made an unprecedented appeal to REBNY members on Vallone's behalf; sources say Vallone has asked REBNY for $15 million. Asked by Crain'sNew York why REBNY was soliciting for Vallone, Spinola explained, "Peter has been a friend of the industry."
