Wild Orchard

While uptown designers were putting the finishing touches on their fall 2000 shows, scheduled to start this week in Bryant Park, the fashion-as-art flock was keeping warm at its own stylish event last Friday night at the newly opened 7 Boutique on Orchard Street. If you could barely see the installations through the smoky crush of champagne-swillers, it mattered not: The duds on the crowd rivaled anything gracing the mannequins.
