Should teachers get paid more if their students get higher grades? Getting higher grades means that teachers have to put in more time. That's obviously time that they should be compensated for.

Are you paid fairly for the work you do? My current job is the worst, but not from the standpoint of pay. I hate being a boss. I make enough money, but I can't stand telling people what to do.

What's the worst-paying job you ever had? For me, there was nothing to get over.

Should teachers get paid more if their students get higher grades? Teachers should get paid more, period, but the biggest push should come from home.

Are you paid fairly for the work you do? Not really, but I don't know if anyone's ever satisfied with how much they're paid.

What's the worst-paying job you ever had? Years ago I worked as a flyer distributor. One day I put all the flyers in the trash can, collected the little bit of money they were paying me, and never went back.

Should teachers get paid more if their students get higher grades? Teachers are grossly underpaid. Garbagemen in my hometown of Scranton, Pennsylvania, make $50,000 a year, which is a lot more than teachers in New York City. I think if you do a good job, you get good pay, and if you do a mediocre job, that kind of performance should be reflected in your paycheck.

Are you paid fairly for the work you do? No, though eventually I will be.

What's the worst-paying job you ever had? I was hired to design furniture at a furniture importer. I was standing in the office drinking coffee, and they told me to start unloading the 40-foot container truck that had just pulled up. It was like working at Manhattan Mini Storage. I had to quit.

Should teachers get paid more if their students get higher grades? Personally, I think teachers get paid a lot. Too little of the money set aside for each student actually gets to the student.

Are you paid fairly for the work you do? I make just enough to get by.

What's the worst-paying job you ever had? A video job in L.A., but I never actually got paid. I was hired to be the girl who just stood there looking cute, and it was supposed to get me a lot of professional exposure. It was horrible.

Should teachers get paid more if their students get higher grades? I support tenure. Teachers shouldn't work on commission. They're not real estate agents.

Are you paid fairly for the work you do? I'm a student. I don't live in the real world.

What's the worst-paying job you ever had? My work has always been commensurate with my pay.

Should teachers get paid more if their students get higher grades? There are so many variables in a classroom that there's no way that an entire class will learn at the same rate. Teachers should be paid more regardless of test scores. If we pay doctors to save lives, we should pay teachers to guide the children who represent our future.

Are you paid fairly for the work you do? No, I've saved for years to go on my vacation to Greece.

What's the worst-paying job you ever had? Retail. Jerky bosses, jerky customers. I hated selling, and I hated people for getting desperate about a red shirt, size small. I wanted to tell them, "You know, this just isn't important."

Should teachers get paid more if their students get higher grades? I don't think teachers should have to produce grades. There should be one straight pay rate which isn't affected by test scores.

Are you paid fairly for the work you do? I'm happy enough.

What's the worst-paying job you ever had? I worked in a laundromat and was paid $6 an hour to do people's laundry. The only good thing was that you'd find lots of money when you cleaned out pockets. I once found $100.
