I hear that Justin Timberlake, the star-quality-laden co-frontman of the smash teenybopper group 'N Sync, has just landed a plum role that will give him realness, credibility, and even a movie career: the lead in the Spike Lee-directed film version of Rent, that Pulitzer-winning musical about love, drag, and AIDS in the East Village. Say bye bye bye to 'N Sync? No, just hi hi hi to a whole new world of possibility for Justin (whom I first noticed on Star Search, by the way).
Michael Musto is on vacation.
Miramax has just postponed the film version and separated from Lee, but we hope this doesn't mean Justin will need to get a new lease, as it were, on life.
