Pride Guide

Oh say, can you see? Shescape, the long-running series of parties for the lesbian of "refined tastes," stages the third segment of its triptych of parties for Heritage of Pride. This event, the official H of P dance for women, features the skills of hip-hop DJ Chip Chop, switching gears to play progressive house, merengue, and salsa for what's typically up to 2500 women—liberty indeed. With go-gos Ousha and Suki. Sun at 7, Discothèque, 17 W 19th, 352-9999, $12. (JG)

Not only are the women who run this spot beyond awesome, they also have the know-how to maneuver this all-day shindig without breaking a sweat. And it promises to be hot, with thousands of women swelling in, out, and along the strip where Henrietta's resides as DJ Kim Dazy pumps out all of the musical goods. Stop in and have a cold one! Sun from noon to 10, Henrietta Hudson's, 438 Hudson, 924-3347. (KF)

If you get sick of being around all the youngsters, you'll find solace in the women here. Characteristically a hangout for older dykes, the place is always packed on Pride Sunday. Check out pianist Celeste as she does her annual unforgettable performance at 5. Sun from 4 to 11, Rubyfruit, 531 Hudson, 929-3343. (KF)
