What do you think about the Times' decision to include gay weddings? I don't think anybody has the right to tell anyone else that their lifestyle is wrong. I think I look at marriage differently than most people. If you're living together, having sex, and maintaining a monogomous relationship, and you're doing everything as a couple, in a sense you're married already. My girlfriend wants to get married, but I don't. It puts pressure on you, and once you're married the things you weren't going to do anyway because you were commited to your partner, you now can't do morally because you're married.

What's your opinion about same-sex marriage? I think it's fine.

Have you ever been to a commitment ceremony? No, I wasn't even aware they were legal in New York City. I heard about them in other states, maybe California. You have the two coasts that are very liberal, everything in the middle is something else altogether. You saw that in the last election, which was a fraud. It wouldn't have been so bad if the dispute hadn't been centered in Florida, where the president's brother is governor. It smacked society in the face.

What do you think about the Times' decision to include gay weddings? The gay community has its specialized newspapers and media. I don't think it's necessary to put gay marriages in the Times, which is a general-interest newspaper. It's not that I'm prejudiced, I just don't think people should get special treatment.

What's your opinion about same-sex marriage? I think it's OK. Times are changing and I have nothing against it.

Have you ever been to a commitment ceremony? No. I've seen one on TV. Friends had one. Ross's ex-wife got married to another woman.

What do you think about the Times' decision to include gay weddings? I think they should absolutely include same-sex marriages. They may be doing it for the wrong reasons, but they should do it anyway. I'm from upstate. In smaller places, you stand out if you're at all different. In New York City, there's a great tolerance for eclectic groups of people.

What's your opinion about same-sex marriage? I think it should be celebrated, just like any other marriage.

Have you ever been to a commitment ceremony? No. It's surprising because a large percentage of my family is gay, and I know a lot of gay people.

What do you think about the Times' decision to include gay weddings? I'm not the least bit interested, though it's interesting that the Times has chosen to do it when there's still so much opposition to it in society. For the most part I've stopped reading the newspaper or watching the news because it's such propaganda, and because the news that's reported is so negative. There was once a cable show called Good News that featured amazing people from around the world. The show lasted a very short time because nobody watched it.

What's your opinion about same-sex marriage? Who cares, really? If you find the right person, you’re lucky.

Have you ever been to a commitment ceremony? No.

What do you think about the Times' decision to include gay weddings? Honestly, I'm not even sure I'd even notice this kind of thing, it's so much a part of the culture now. I guess the Times thinks its progressive and radical.

What's your opinion about same-sex marriage? It doesn't bother me at all. I live in Chelsea, and I'm a straight man, which is in itself interesting.

Have you ever been to a commitment ceremony? I think I went to one at a Unitarian church in Kentucky, which is where I'm originally from. The Unitarians pray to "To Whom It May Concern." The ceremony was beautiful, although I myself can't imagine being tied down like that. Bad things will happen in your relationship whether you're married or not.

What do you think about the Times' decision to include gay weddings? I think it's fine. I have nothing against it. I like living in New York City because you feel like you're traveling. There are so many different kinds of people. I'm from Guyana in South America, where you hear very little about the gay community. I think being gay is something you're born with. You can't fight it. It's like liking to eat spicy food. You just like it.

What's your opinion about same-sex marriage? I have nothing against it.

Have you ever been to a commitment ceremony? No.

What do you think about the Times' decision to include gay weddings? I approve, though I haven't really read that section. I think the Times tends to be slightly elitist.

What's your opinion about same-sex marriage? I'm from San Francisco; that about sums it up.

Have you ever been to a commitment ceremony? No, I haven't. I think marriage is an outmoded institution. Without actually aspiring to be in the society pages of The New York Times, marriage is what most people aspire to. It's funny, because most marriages are so unhappy.
