Cosby Rips Into Black America Again

This is the season of ranting. From the left we have Fahrenheit 9/11, a heavy-handed broadside from Michael Moore, the man who put the D in demagogue. From the right we have, well, we have the right. Just joking. From the right we have Dick Cheney marching into the hallowed halls of the Senate and telling Pat Leahy to fuck himself. And from somewhere in the hazy elitist middle-no-wing of politics we have a monopoly on elitism—once again we have Bill Cosby.

A few months ago Cosby upbraided black America for not standing strong against baggy jeans, pound cake bandits, Arabic names, and the general decline of the West. Cosby was promptly denounced by the Voice, where we believe that the vanguard of the revolution will not be led by Cosby, but by pound cake thieves. On Thursday Cosby appeared at the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition & Citizenship Education Fund's annual conference and got back to what he apparently thinks he does best—hectoring.

Some choice selections:

"Your dirty laundry gets out of school at 2:30 every day; it's cursing and calling each other nigger as they're walking up and down the street," Cosby said.

"They think they're hip," continued Cosby. "They can't read; they can't write. They're laughing and giggling, and they're going nowhere."

Here's what he said last time—call it Cosby's ur-rant.
