NYPD shooting deaths of civilians, starting with Diallo and not ending

September 1, 2002: An NYPD detective kills Jamil Moore, 22, in Brooklyn after he allegedly refuses police orders to halt and drop his knife.
Outcome: The D.A. chooses not to prosecute.

January 1, 2003: Jamal Nixon, 19, is allegedly seen firing a handgun shortly after midnight in Brownsville and is fatally shot by police.
Outcome: The D.A. chooses not to prosecute.

January 1, 2003: Police shoot and kill Anthony Reid, 21, only blocks away from the Nixon shooting, after he refuses orders to drop his weapon and allegedly opens fire on them.
Outcome: The D.A. chooses not to prosecute.

January 2, 2003: A police officer fatally shoots Allen Newsome, 17, in Manhattan during an alleged attempted robbery.
Outcome: The D.A. chooses not to prosecute.

January 2, 2003: Police fatally shoot John Lagattuta, 35, in Brooklyn after spotting him driving a stolen vehicle.
Outcome: The D.A. chooses not to prosecute.

April 30, 2003: Police fatally shoot Floyd Quinones, 28, in Brooklyn after he fires 17 gunshots into the air during a friend's birthday celebration and then allegedly aims his gun at cops.
Outcome: The D.A. chooses not to prosecute.

May 1, 2003: Carlos Lopez, 19, is fatally shot by a narcotics officer in Brooklyn minutes after allegedly killing another man.
Outcome: The D.A. chooses not to prosecute.

May 22, 2003: Ousmane Zongo, 43 and unarmed, is fatally shot during a police chase in a Chelsea storage facility.
Outcome: Officer Bryan Conroy is tried for manslaughter, but a mistrial is declared after the jury deadlocks 10-2 for conviction.

September 19, 2003: Ex-correction officer Stephen Seignious, 37, is shot and killed in the Fordham section of the Bronx after waving a fake Glock at police.
Outcome: The D.A. chooses not to prosecute.

January 24, 2004: Officer Richard Neri kills unarmed Timothy Stansbury Jr., 19, on a Bedford-Stuyvesant rooftop.
Outcome: A grand jury chooses not to indict.

August 30, 2004: Police fatally shoot Rashawn Sharif Moody, 18, in a wild gunfight during a suspected armed robbery at a Brooklyn car wash.
Outcome: The D.A. chooses not to prosecute.

January 6, 2005: Brian Allen, 46, a suspect in a shooting, kidnapping, and rape earlier in the day, is fatally shot by police in Queens during a confrontation after a car crash.
Outcome: Pending.
