A Swanky New Lounge on Bedford Avenue? Say It Is So.

A sleek, minimalist lounge in Williamsburg? Don't worry; dive bar heaven hasn't gone meatpacking district on us yet. Triple Crown, the chic, slate, storefront bar on Bedford's hipster highway, may seem swanky—after all, it's a stark white room with a blond wood bar; angular, backless stools; and mod leather couches—but it is actually a reasonably priced neighborhood spot that also happens to be a DJ haven. Since opening the bar in August, the owners have consistently booked quality DJ lineups (Rich Medina was a recent guest and both DJs Language and Lindsey from APT's NegroClash party are regulars) to spin hip-hop, soul, r&b, and house over their astonishingly clarion sound system.

In a sea of PBR-serving, punk-playing watering holes, Triple Crown's chic design and diverse soundtrack make it a welcome addition to the neighborhood. Even more welcoming are the prices: Five seems to be the lucky number, as all beers on tap (including local favorites Brooklyn Lager and Pilsner), all bottled beer (from Red Stripe to Rheingold), and most well drinks are only $5 (or less).

In just a few short months, the bar has earned its name. With such a stylish space, great music, and cheap beer, it definitely wins the Triple Crown.
