So how come nobody ever told me that Can did a song called "Transcendental Express" two years before their countrymen Kraftwerk hit with "Trans-Europe Express"? Well, maybe somebody did, and just as with all the people I've forgotten who may have told me how awesome Rory Gallagher was, I just wasn't paying attention at the time. I do remember Frank Kogan telling me once that he used to confuse King Crimson's "21st Century Schizoid Man" with Black Sabbath's "Iron Man" back in 1970, though. And I do know that Teena Marie has a song called "Surrealistic Pillow," though I'm not sure anybody ever told Grace Slick. It's not on Robbery, but "Cassanova Brown" is. Now, if only Gloria Gaynor's "Casanova Brown" were on Music for Lonely Housewives instead of "I Will Survive."
