Jiggle Belles: Anderson's Busty Bimbo Bibliophile Jiggles All the Way

The title suggests that the only thing Pamela Anderson has going for her is sex appeal, and that people will only watch this series to catch a glimpse of her bodacious ta-tas—with good reason. Stacked feels like a '70s sitcom accidentally pulled out of some network's dusty vault. Its jiggle factor may be high, but the laugh levels are way too low. The studio audience doesn't seem to mind, though, hooting at every near-joke as if they've been stuck in a deprivation chamber for decades.

Anderson plays Skyler Dayton, a bookstore employee whose main job appears to be stoking the fantasy lives of her male colleagues and customers (including a retired NASA scientist portrayed with amusing dignity by Taxi's Christopher Lloyd). In the season's debut episode, Skyler went around telling associates she loved them, triggering one dumpy cohort to confess his undying affection. "How am I ever going to look her in the eye again?" he whined later. "Shouldn't be a problem," quipped snarky store manager Gavin. "That's not where you usually look." Another week, Jenny McCarthy guest-starred as an old friend transformed by plastic surgery; all store activity ceased while the duo spent several minutes publicly palpating each other's breasts. Unfortunately, boobs are not inherently funny (unless they're attached to a Benny Hillcast member). And unlike Ellen DeGeneres, who rose to superstardom as a kooky bookstore owner in Ellen, Anderson hasn't yet mastered physical comedy, timing, or any of the other elements necessary for a successful woozy blonde act. It's a lesson TV execs never seem to learn: Ditz and tits do not necessarily make hits.
