Es 'Nuestro Himno,' Senor Presidente

Hear the Spanish-language anthem that's bugging Bush

Pro-immigration forces are planning nationwide rallies this Monday have a new solidarity song, "Nuestro Himno"--a Spanish-language take on the "Star-Spangled Banner."

The brainchild of British producer Adam Kidron, president of the label Urban Box Office, the remix features Wyclef Jean, Pitbull, Carlos Ponce, Ivy Queen, and Gloria Trevi.

Released today, "Our Anthem"--as it's called in English—is already provoking harsh criticism. Conservative bloggers have decried it as "the Illegal Alien Anthem" and President Bush told reporters how "The Star-Spangled Banner" should be sung:

"The national anthem ought to be sung in English. And I think people who want to be citizens of this country ought to learn it in English. They ought to learn to sing the national anthem in English."

Bush's advice about the national anthem could be drowned out. Kidron’s label has asked Latino radio stations across the U.S. to play "Nuestro Himno" at 7 p.m. Eastern today. Or you can hear it for yourself now.
