The crossover comes on Jan. 25. Militant Mars, currently retrograde, retreats into Gemini on New Year’s Eve, confronting and, no doubt aggravating, Pluto on Jan. 2. Their next opposition on the Cancer-Capricorn solstice points occurs at the Pisces new moon in March. Expansive Jupiter is already in earthy Capricorn, getting the lay of the land. Saturn is retrograde in Virgo until May Day, and in clean house Virgo, another “take care of business” earth sign, until summer 2010. Uranus remains in Pisces until 2012, which is when Neptune leaves Aquarius. Venus begins the New Year in early Sagittarius, circles the zodiac and ends up Aquarius again.
