31 FLAVORS

New visions from behind the lens

From an open call for submissions, Hum-ble Arts Foundation and Ladies Lotto created 31 Under 31: Young Women in Art Photography, a collaborative display of 31 female photographers, under 31 years old, from different walks of life. “We hope to give exposure to unknown photographers while simultaneously showcasing more familiar names in contemporary photography,” says co-curators Lumi Tan and Jon Feinstein. The exhibit opens just in time for Women’s History Month, so if you’re planning on celebrating, show your appreciation for up-and-coming artists like Sarah Small, whose images include two people kissing under a small stuffed deer, or Ahndraya Parlato’s shot of a human eye peeking out of a white backdrop. (Might be a head-scratcher, but worth a go.)
