Many great men have had them: Lennon, Einstein, and the ’stache God himself, Tom Selleck. Then, in 2004, a group of dudes with fuzzy upper lips actually had an idea—celebrate their lack of shaving skills—and El Dia del Mustache was born. The “Board” (CK, Connie, Fitzy, Murph, and Sully) say they “grew tired of society’s conventions and longed for the days when being a man meant cultivating a mustache.” The trend seems to be sweeping the country—or at least Williamsburg—so don’t deny your inner Geraldo Rivera. The winner of “Best in Show” gets a Members Only jacket, which has been passed down from year to year.
