LIAR, LIAR

But is it his nose that will grow?

Artist/drag queen/playwright Tabboo!’s new show, Finokio: the Lyin’ Queen, or The Sound of Crickets, claims to employ “spectacularly lo-fi stage effects,” but that certainly won’t apply to the notoriously over-the-top cast, whose collective credits include Deee-lite, a stint as Francis Bean Cobain-Love’s “tranny-nanny,” and even Rikers Island (Lady Miss Kier, Gina Varla Vetro, and Flotilla De Barge, respectively). Other local weirdos include Peter Cramer and Jack Waters as the Cat and the Fox, Miss Trina Rose as the Cricket, and downtown performance/drag veteran Brandon Olson in the title role—which, in this camped-up version of the fairy tale, is a lying, fame-starved tranny obsessed with Britney Spears and on a quest (of course) to become a real boy.
