THE ART OF BREVITY

Can you sum up your life in six words?

Given all the recent scandals surrounding fictitious memoirs, tonight’s 6 Word Memoir Slam sounds like the perfect solution to all those despicable embellishments. The evening features readings by contributors to the recently published Not Quite What I Was Planning: Six-Word Memoirs by Writers Famous and Obscure, which was based on Ernest Hemingway’s famous six-word short story (“For sale: baby shoes, never worn”). After listening to all those snappy stories, you’re invited to jot down your own mini-memoir on a cocktail napkin and join in the fun.
