Pavel Zustiak wants you to experience the world as if for the first—or the last—time. The award-winning choreographer’s Blind Spot, a multimedia performance using dance, text, video, and soundscapes, is designed to be mind-boggling. Posing the question “What happens when the psyche rediscovers its physical form?”, the piece—performed by Zustiak’s company Palissmo—uses ambiguous images with a multitude of meanings, garbled words, and awkward movements to keep the viewer in the metaphorical dark. What he creates is a purposeful blindness, and what you finally witness is something totally fresh. It’s a mindfuck of the best sort; can you handle it?
