If you were the presidents shrink, how long would you be able to stay quiet about his darkest secrets? About a fraction of a second? Yeah, us too. But for a real pro like James Coburn in The Presidents Analyst, Theodore J. Flickers uproarious 1967 political satire, now playing at the Film Forum, keeping all those secrets confidential isnt as troublesome as fighting off all the people who will do anything to learn them. It doesnt take long before Coburn finds himself on the run and forced to team up with a cast of zany characters, from a tribe of hippies to a gay Soviet spy. Given our current administrations penchant for spying, we suspect The Presidents Analyst will feel as fresh as ever.
