AMERICANS BEHAVING BADLY

“College kids in Europe” spells comedy!

Go to Europe this summer? Who has the money? Instead, why not live vicariously through the intrepid sightseers of Richard Nelson’s comedy Some Americans Abroad. Presented by Second Stage Theatre, the story follows a group of idealistic professors who take their students on a whirlwind literary tour of England. Not surprisingly, the kids—more interested in partying than Shakespeare—quickly ditch the strict itinerary, and ugly-American debauchery ensues. Gordon Edelstein stages the meltdowns and mayhem.
