Sunrise

(F.W. Murnau, 1927). This poignant and hauntingly beautiful classic silent weepie, Murnau's first American feature, and one of the most Germanic films ever made in Hollywood, is a triumph of inspired set design and cinematography. Its influence on a number of directors, notably John Ford, was extensive for several years. The screening will be accompanied by a live performance by the Irish group 3epkano.
