Potlucks, typically, are cheesy social gatheringsthe good food usually runs out in seconds, the burnt casserole is left cold, and everyone keeps eyeing their watches. But ad and editorial photographer Casey Kelbaugh made big improvements to these boring get-togethers in 2000 when he created Slideluck Potshow, a dinner and art event that features not only gourmet-style food but also innovative art (presented in five-minute slide shows) by photojournalists, painters, and designers. This unique forum, which comes with a different theme each time, has taken place throughout the U.S. and Mexico City, with three yearly events in New York.
