Grizzly Bear’s reputation grew exponentially between the release of their 2004 debut, Horn of Plenty, and their 2006 sophomore set, Yellow House. And now—thanks to worshipful reviews, collaborations with Paul Simon and the L.A. Philharmonic, and a bevy of high-profile live gigs (including a handful of August dates opening for Radiohead)—the Brooklyn psych-pop group’s profile looks to do the same before they issue Yellow House’s follow-up, which is tentatively due next spring. The Grizzlies’ music has grown, too—right now, there’s no better band bridging the gap between deep-woods texture and song-factory tune. Local openers Violens sound like Joy Division covering Nuggets. A portion of tonight’s proceeds go to the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation to provide Midwestern flood relief.
