The Oakland-based artist Deth P. Sun’s signature blank-eyed cat (who often appears in his illustrations for magazines such as Nylon and on T-shirts sold at Urban Outfitters) is the star of Sun’s latest exhibition of acrylic paintings titled “I See It All,” which follows the adorable feline as he journeys across the sea, through the woods, over craggy mountain peaks, and even to the top of the Sears Tower. Influenced by the travels of the naturalist David Attenborough, the fantastical films of Terry Gilliam, and the comic strip The Moomins, Sun creates a fantasy world sure to inspire even the biggest homebody to take a trip—even if it’s just another trip to the gallery.
