While we can’t think of anything the Iraq War has given us to laugh about, Academy Award–nominated writer Michael Weller nevertheless promises us a comedy on this very subject with his latest play Beast. The story follows the road adventure of two Iraqi War veterans as they make their way back home to the U.S. after being released from a hospital in Germany. Still as patriotic as ever despite being severely wounded, the two men decide to make a pit stop at Bush’s Crawford ranch to meet their commander in chief. But will the President be able to take time from his busy relaxation routine to meet them? The talented Obie winner Jo Bonney directs the seven-member cast.
