Mr. and Miss Williamsburg Pageant

Find out who’s the biggest slacker of them all

It’s not hard to spot them: They’re usually sporting skinny jeans, moccasins, American Apparel rags, and Ray-Bans, talking about how they despise the world as they make their way to the nearest can of PBR on Bedford. Tonight, find out who’s the most irritating (er, we mean hippest) of them all at the Mr. and Miss Williamsburg Pageant. Founded by hipster Misha Calvert—who claims that the pageant is a part of the court-ordered community service she was sentenced to perform after being arrested for stealing a few Colt 45’s (groan)—the contest will be judged in three categories: personal interviews, streetwear, and talent. So how will they distinguish real hipsters from the fakes? “We’ve assembled a panel of expert judges who are recognized and well-respected in the hipster community,” Miss Calvert says. “I have absolute faith in their taste.” (Double groan.)
Fridays, 10 p.m. Starts: Sept. 5. Continues through Sept. 6, 2008
