IT'S EUSTACE TILLY'S PARTY

Bring your own monocle

Intellectual and cultural elitists, you can exhale: The ninth annual New Yorker Festival is back, bringing with it the writers, artists, performers, and thinkers you associate with the magazine. Scribblers don't want to miss out on tonight's "Fiction Night," a discussion with writers whose short stories have appeared in David Remnick's rag. A session titled "The American Dream" features a roundtable with T. Coraghessan Boyle, Jeffrey Eugenides, and Jhumpa Lahiri, while the "In Conversation With" segment invites Alice Munro to discuss her 1968 collection of stories. Other events to look forward to: "Covering the Candidates," a political panel with Voice alum Ta-Nehisi Coates, Bill Keller, Peggy Noonan, and Jack Shafer; a chat with Stephen Colbert and his "Moment of Truthiness"; and interviews with Tommy Lee Jones and Haruki Murakami.
