Last time 'round, our Afrolantica lads located their limnal techno-bush on the psychedelic slopes of Cookie Mountain. Now they're taking their tech gnosis farther, to the plane where medieval griots and far-seeing mad scientists like George Schuyler's Dr. Belsidus foment revolution. Dear Science extends Tunde Adebimpe, Kyp Malone, and the gang's recent comfort with several generations of postcolonial experimentation yoking Fela, Hugh Masekela, and our own sonic John Brown, David Byrne. TVOTR has emerged from the bush of ghosts with a winner, a meta/metal journal for these here plague years. And they're at the ramparts addressing Pox Americana with the Dirtbombs, the Motor City's finest in a long, hallowed tradition of fusing Southern-inflected soul, punk attitude, and much horsepower. Viva Mick Collins!
