EDUCATING MIND AND SPIRIT

American Indian College Fund gala returns

For those who need reminding that gray matter (and other vital human parts) is a terrible thing to waste, come pay your ducats to honor tribal colleges' 40-year mark (the Diné founded the first back in '68) and replenish student scholarships for our shamefully invisible nations' brilliant minds. The 13th annual Flame of Hope Gala is headlined by Jakob Dylan, features a performance by the Red Hawk Dance Troupe, and includes appearances by Benjamin Bratt, Adam Beach, and the evening's emcee, CBS's Hattie Kauffman. Yet whether you come to party in black tie or Native dress, don't lose sight either of these students' bravery or struggles.
