Inquisitive Minds

Peter Brook stages Dostoevsky

In recent years, theater has tended toward the irreverent, but director Peter Brook offers an unusually worshipful view of faith (if not the church) in this play, which stages The Grand Inquisitor, an excerpt from Dostoevsky’s The Brothers Karamazov. This brief, two-character piece pits a representative of the Spanish Inquisition against a silent, infinitely compassionate man who may well embody Christ returned to earth.
Wednesdays-Fridays, 8 p.m.; Saturdays, 2 & 8 p.m.; Sundays, 3 & 7 p.m.; Tuesdays, 7 p.m. Starts: Oct. 22. Continues through Nov. 30, 2008
