This month's First Saturdays at the Brooklyn Museum gives a shout-out to our sister city, London. From music and film to art and dance, the dizzying talent of tonight's Brits should help us forgive the UK for Marc Quinn's 18-karat-gold statue of Kate Moss. Highlights include the alternative beats of Nigerian singer-songwriter Adama; a create-your-own-neighborhood collage session inspired by Gilbert & George; Kate Chevigny's political doc on American voters' experiences in Election Day (2007)—Chevigny will be there in person; and a dance party that celebrates the hottest sounds hitting the British airwaves and club scene—Northern soul, beat, British indie, new wave, and pop.
