There aren't too many New York City events that combine booze, sex, and poetry—legally, anyway. In fact, we can only think of one: The Poetry Brothel, where poets act as whores and audience members play the johns behind curtained-off areas for intimate, one-on-one readings. The brothel also offers blackjack tables, tarot-card readings, raffle tickets, and live music. This month's series features author and poet David Lehman (The Last Avant-Garde: The Making of the New York School of Poets). Don't forget to wear a disguise!
