Rise of the house of Usher
Usher Raymond has come a long way from the last decade's teen-pop boom. Last year, he turned his buff back on relentless modelizing and being a dutiful Mama's boy in favor of a much-blogged, ill-starred romance turned marriage with urban stylist to the stars Tameka Foster. While the likes of Bossip may be replete with acidic prophecies of the pop power couple's inevitable demise, wedded bliss and new fatherhood seem to be agreeing with Young Ush (or at least it's a gold mine for puffy Essence profiles). However, as this year's bliss-and-babymaking opus Here I Stand attests, the good life pretty much continues to wreak havoc with artists' aesthetics. It remains to be seen whether this concert will make y'all appreciate Usher's newfound maturity or long for the days when he was inundated with panties.
