Orphans of the Storm

(D.W.Griffith, 1921). Griffith tosses two orphan girls (Lillian and Dorothy Gish) into the tempestuous sea of the French Revolution and the result is a long but suspenseful epic, historically accurate in many details. The storming of the Bastille is depicted with great flair. Piano accompaniment by the talented Donald Sosin.
