HAUNTED LEGEND

An adaptation of Chekhov's The Black Monk

Before his untimely death, Anton Chekhov wrote only a handful of full-length plays. This might seem a lamentable dearth of material, but composer Wendy Kesselman has a solution: start adapting Chekhov short stories to the stage. She’s chosen a sort of horror tale, The Black Monk, in which a young philosopher has visions of a ghostly cleric, who inflames both his creativity and his illness.
Tuesdays, 7 p.m.; Wednesdays-Saturdays, 8 p.m.; Saturdays, 2 p.m.; Sundays, 3 p.m. Starts: Nov. 25. Continues through Jan. 4, 2008
