(Ferzan Ozpetek, 2001). This moving melodrama was the director's first film made fully in Italy where he has worked ever since. It concerns an upper class suburbanite doctor (splendid Margherita Buy) who discovers that her deceased husband had a male lover (hunky Stefano Accorsi). Through him she gets acquainted with a group of her husband's inner city friends—a community of misfits, queers, ethnic minorities and refugees, and these characters from his parallel life challenge her well-ordered existence.
