New Borough: The Real World Does Brooklyn

We know the drill: Seven strangers picked to live in a house, blah, blah, blah. All we care about is when they stop being polite and start getting real, which is what we hope to see at tonight’s sneak-peak Same City, New Borough: The Real World Does Brooklyn (or Pier 41 in Red Hook, to be precise), a panel discussion with some of the cast members, producers Jonathan Murray and Jim Johnston, and moderator Jeff Gordinier (author and editor-at-large at Details magazine). And here’s a good topic for Gordinier to bring up: Why has The Real World sucked since the New Orleans season? (Can anyone remember the Denver or Sydney cast? Didn’t think so.) If MTV wants us to watch this latest bunch, they’ll have to prove tonight that at least one of the Brooklynites is as entertainingly insane as Julie, the moron girl, or Puck, the asshole bike messenger. We can only hope.
