HOT SEAT

The masterful Edward Bond returns

Sit down, take off your coat, examine your program, and wait for the lights to dim—but don't even think about getting too comfortable. Chair, by the famously discomfiting English playwright Edward Bond, will likely have audiences squirming in their seats. Theatre for a New Audience, which recently staged a revival of Bond's Saved (that's the baby-killing one), offers the New York premiere of his drama about a repressive society. Joan Macintosh, Will Rogers, and Alfredo Narciso star alongside Stephanie Roth Haberle in this drama about the fearful consequences of a single kind action. Robert Woodruff furnishes the direction.
