DANCE OF THE HALVAH FAIRY?

The Klezmer Nutcracker puts a Jewish spin on a Christmas classic

What can we expect from a Jewish version of The Nutcracker? Well, a Hanukkah party should likely replace the Christmas one—and perhaps we can anticipate the Dance of the Halvah Fairy? Ellen Kushner adapts her kiddie book The Golden Dreydl into this musical tale of a disconsolate girl and an enchanted toy.
