Now in its fifth year, Mark Russell’s marvelous festival, Under the Radar, is officially on the radar, provided you’re either a producer or a fan of avant-garde theatrics. Again, the Public hosts this festival of local and international plays, performance, and live art. This year’s highlights include Cambodian political drama 3 Years, 8 Months, 20 Days; Netherlandish multimedia project LIGA, 50% reward & 50% punishment; Irish punk-rock fairy tale The Crumb Trail; phone chats with India courtesy Call Cutta in a Box; and numerous solo shows. The beautiful part: The Public promises to create a club space, so that after the show there’s an in-house venue for drinks, chats, and opportunities to throw yourself at all of those handsome foreign actors.
