Vonda Shepard

Shepard's catapult to stardom on Ally McBeal was likely a blessing and a curse. Sure it made her a household name, but it also pigeonholed her as a blues/pop lounge singer, like her character. As she turned 45, Shepard released From the Sun, with some help from her husband, producer Mitchell Froom. Shepard churned out pop hits, like her 1987 duet with Dan Hill "Can't We Try," before the "McBeal" shtick. Maybe this will album will redeem those pop powers?
