Artists go head-to-head, but who will survive?
Since most of us aren’t awake when stealthy NYC graffiti artists are hard at work, Sean Bono and Max Bode created the live art and music event Art Battles as a way to bring artist and observer together (and sell artwork, too). Tonight’s event showcases six artists (including Ben Angotti, Concep, and Marthalicia Matarrita) who will compete against each other within an allotted time—and you get to pick the winner. The theme is “Ala Prima,” which refers to a style of painting in which the work is completed in one session while the paint is still wet. In this case, it’s how each round is confined. Spokinn Movement and DJ Teenwolf provide the sounds.
