TEA FOR TWO

The Dyke Division’s lesbian soap opera returns

Sappho, that lusty Greek, wrote about how “Eros once again, limb-loosener, whirls me/sweetbitter, impossible to fight off.” Twenty-seven centuries on, naughty cupid’s at it again. He’s taken up residence in the crunchy community of Sappho, Massachusetts—a town home to robust women, hard-fought softball games, and a coven of bloodthirsty lady vampires. Theater of the Two-Headed Calf’s Dyke Division presents a three-week revival of the first season of Room for Cream, the 11-episode lesbian soap opera, largely set in Sappho’s coffeehouse. Writer-performers Jess Barbagallo, Laryssa Husiak, Brooke O’Harra, Brendan Connelly, Laura Berlin Stinger, and a bevy of special guests offer girl-girl titillation and endless cups of chamomile tea.
Thursdays-Saturdays, 10 p.m.; Sundays, 5:30 p.m. Starts: Jan. 22. Continues through Feb. 8, 2009
