GYPSY KING

It's gonna be a nude ol' time

Tonight is the New York premiere of Margarita Jimeno's documentary Gogol Bordello: Non-Stop, which covers the rise of mustachioed frontman Eugene Hütz from the early days of DJing at the Mehanata Bulgarian Bar on Canal Street to influencing Gucci and falling into Madonna's clutches. But that's not what we're so excited about: If you ever experienced the mad debauchery of those fabled Bulgarian Bar nights from 2000 to 2004 (or wished you'd been around to experience them), you won't want to miss the screening's after-party, which promises a reunion of the DJs and Eastern European freaks who made it great, including Piroska Racz performing her Arabic gypsy dance. Prepare to leave with your dress torn, your shoes lost, and your memory extremely hazy.
Fri., Jan. 30, 8 & 10:15 p.m., 2009
