In this concrete jungle with the world at our fingertips, sometimes the only thing beyond our grasp is a dose of Mother Nature. Monkey Town's chef Ryan Jaronik hopes to remedy that with his six-course Forest Dinner, featuring a sampling of gamey meats—such as espresso-rubbed elk loin and venison ravioli—minus the hassle of fishing out the buckshot. At this restaurant/film house/performance space/gallery, where even a visit to the bathroom is an artistic exercise, Monkey Town makes the meal into a full sensory experience by screening a selection of music videos—from artists including Daft Punk, My Bloody Valentine, Fleet Foxes, and Kanye—while you eat. And with cryptic promises of an appearance by Mr. Rogers in some form or another, it seems like just about anything can happen in the wilds of Williamsburg.
