Now, all she needs is a horse on keyboards. Little Boots, named with implausible fondness after Caligula (that's the English translation), is an eccentric post-rave upstart from Blackpool, England, who rocks such obscure electronic instruments as the stylophone and Tenori-on, sings in Goldfrapp-worthy detached purr, and hopscotches through cyclical droning with unabashed glee (especially in markedly literal first single, "Stuck on Repeat"). Her Arecibo EP percolated on London dance floors all through 2008, but Studio B will be one of her first barometers for across-the-pond success. Early indications look chipper, but take heed—after she annexes Greenpoint, can Mauritania be far behind?
