'An Evening of Sensual Machine Music'

Now in their second season, the curatorial geniuses behind Wordless Music are taking over the city with their forward-thinking and, most notably, youth-grabbing programs that blend the best of contemporary classical artists with innovative indie rock and electronica musicians—the downtown set the uptown set covets. Tonight's Valentine's Day special features different flavors of intimate and ambient: Portland's Grouper plays minimal and ghostly folk, and Lusine and Sight Below both glide and shimmer with shoegazed electronic mojo. Pianist Michael Brofman will play haunting and beautiful pieces from composer Erik Satie.
Sat., Feb. 14, 8 p.m., 2009
