More About
Despite occasional attempts such as our own Lincoln Center or Washingtons Kennedy Center, America has never managed a national theater of its own. But dont tell that to the marvelous experimental corps NTUSAthe National Theater of the United States of America a company that exists for your entertainment, enlightenment, and greater glory. In their latest endeavor, titled Chautauqua, theyre investigating what Theodore Roosevelt once described as the most American thing in America: the Chautauqua lectures, traveling summer events that instructed willing attendees in the mysteries of Protestant religion, progressive politics, and high culture. NTUSA have now erected their own Chautauqua tent at P.S.122, reinventing the form and purloining the content.
